The Canadian government announced the Parents and Grandparents Super Visa on December 1, 2011. The Super Visa Program allows people to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada. A visiting visa with multiple entries, valid for up to 10 years, is issued for those who are accepted into the program.The Super Visa is valid for two years.
Parents or grandparents may need a Temporary Resident Visa in addition to the Super Visa, depending on their nationality. The TRV is a certificate issued by a Canadian Immigration Visa Office outside of Canada that certifies that the holder meets the criteria for visitor entry to Canada.
Some relatives may be eligible to become permanent residents of Canada. Orphaned brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, and grandkids are examples. Apart from that, under rare circumstances, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident can sponsor a relative to become a permanent resident of Canada.
